Russian government plans to ban the export of gasoline from the country for six months. It is expected that the introduction of export restrictions will saturate the domestic fuel market during periods of high demand in spring and summer.

The last time the authorities resorted to a similar initiative was in the fall of 2023 to saturating the domestic market and stabilize prices. In addition to the ban on theExport of gasoline, the authorities may oblige oil companies to increase sales of diesel fuel on the stock exchange.
