Housing starts in September 9.9% decrease from the previous year 15 consecutive months Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism October 30, 15:05

The number of homes started nationwide in September fell 9.9% from the same month of the previous year.

This is the 15th consecutive month of decline, and the decline continues due to the effects of the new coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the number of construction starts in September was 70,186, a decrease of 9.9% from the same month of the previous year.



Compared to the decrease of more than 10% from April to July, the rate of decline was smaller, but it continues to decrease due to the influence of the new coronavirus.



The number of housing starts has decreased for the 15th consecutive month.



Looking at the breakdown,


▽ "rental houses" such as rental apartments decreased by 14.8% from the same month of the previous year to 25,053 units, and


▽ "for-sale houses" such as condominiums and built-for-sale houses decreased by 7.8% 2 12,159 units,


▽ The number of "owned houses" indicating custom-built houses decreased by 7% to 22,337 units.



According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, "Although the number of visitors to the housing exhibition hall has increased compared to the previous month, the impact of the new coronavirus is likely to continue for the time being."
