Many famous English dictionaries around the world have been found to provide distorted information about Korea.

Recently, the cyber diplomatic mission VANK entered Korea into world famous English dictionaries such as Collins and American Heritage, and as a result of searching, 11 out of 15 dictionaries exclusively indicated the East Sea as the Sea of Japan.

Overseas map publishers and world history textbooks indicate the East Sea as the Sea of Japan from 3% 20 years ago to 40% now, but English dictionaries still refer to the East Sea as the Sea of Japan.

Above all, these dictionaries seriously distorted Korean history.

It explains that 'Korea was a vassal state of China until the port was opened in 1876 and trade started between Japan and Joseon', while providing false information that the Korean name for 'Korea' was Joseon.

VANK plans to provide correct material to English dictionaries and encyclopedia publishers who are providing misinformation, while also sending a request for correction with a complaint.
