Like every year, the American company Apptopia has just established its ranking of the most downloaded Android and iOS applications.

As in 2020, TikTok tops this top 10, with 656 million downloads, almost 200 million less than a year ago.

A few days ago, the American site Cloudfare, revealed that the Chinese social network became, in 2021, the most visited site in the world, ahead of Google.

Last year, TikTok only came in seventh place.

Telegram in the top 5

In the ranking of the most downloaded applications in the world, Instagram and Facebook complete the podium with respectively 545 million and 416 million downloads. A podium made up entirely of social networks. WhatsApp (395 million downloads) and Telegram (329 million downloads) follow. The latter notably saw its registrations boosted by the controversy over the change in the conditions of use of WhatsApp; she was only eighth in 2020.

Snapchat ranks sixth with 327 million downloads, just ahead of Zoom (300 million downloads).

The videoconferencing application, whose popularity had exploded with teleworking, is doing less well than last year (477 million downloads) but still remains in the top 10. Messenger (268 million downloads) fell by two ranks compared to 2020 and comes in eighth place.

The video editing application CapCut (255 million downloads) and Spotify (203 million downloads) finish this ranking.
