A man in his 50s who visited the workplace of his ex-girlfriend who was subject to personal protection and sprayed flammable materials was handed over to the prosecution.

The Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced today (30th) that it had forwarded a man in his 50s, who was charged with violating the Stalking Punishment Act, preliminary arson of the building in Hyeonju, and special injuries to the prosecution.

Mr. A is accused of spraying flammable substances on the floor at around 4 pm on the 21st at a restaurant in Dongdaemun-gu, where his ex-lover B works.

At that time, Mr. B was in the bathroom and escaped from anger, but it was reported that flammable substances were splattered on the face of Mr. B's acquaintance who was in the store.

After receiving the report from Mr. B, the police arrived and arrested Mr. A as a current offender.

Later, in the course of searching for Mr. A, he found belongings that could be used as weapons.

However, the police did not apply the related charges, considering that Mr. A had a reason to possess the object due to his occupation and did not use it to intimidate the victim.

According to the police, Mr. B reported Mr. A twice in the beginning of this month for assault, and at the time of the third report on the 13th, he was designated as a subject of personal protection and was wearing a smart watch.

It was investigated that A went to see B even knowing that he could be arrested if he violated the restrictions on residence and communication access.
