A father in his 40s, who was handed over to trial for assaulting and threatening his son with a weapon, because he did not like his attitude during a conversation with his teenage son, was sentenced to probation.

Yesterday (14th), according to the legal community, Detective 3 of the Uijeongbu District Court (Judge Shin Jung-min) sentenced Mr. A, who was charged with violating the Child Welfare Act (Child Abuse) and the Special Act on the Punishment of Domestic Violence Crimes, to 6 months in prison and 2 probation sentenced to

one year

, ordered probation and 40 hours of child abuse prevention lecture

He got angry at the thought that his son's attitude was ignoring him and was charged with assaulting his son's face.

Also, when his son reported the assault by his father to the police, Mr. A, angry, brought a knife from the kitchen and threatened, saying, "Hey, did you report it? I'll kill you and go to jail."

Due to such incidents, Mr. A received a temporary measure from the court stating that he would immediately evict his son from his residence and prohibit access within 100 meters of his son's school or academy for about two months.

However, it was investigated that, despite this decision, Mr. A did not follow the court's decision to take temporary measures, such as living in the same space with his son.

In the end, Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act and stood in court.

The court pointed out, "As the father of the victim, the accused has a responsibility to protect and nurture him safely, but the guilt is not light because he assaults and threatens with a weapon."

"However, the sentence was decided by combining various conditions of sentencing, including the fact that the accused is reflecting on his wrongdoing, that he entered the residence with the consent of the victim and his wife, and that the child and his wife do not want to be punished for avoiding this part of the crime." I did.
