<Anchor> As you

just heard, this Sunday is Halloween, which has become a festival among young people. Even though it was still Friday night, the streets in front of Itaewon and Hongdae in Seoul were already crowded with people. Let's connect on the spot.

Reporter Kim Min-jung! It's still a time to be careful rather than enjoy yourself, but there seem to be a lot of people on the street, right?

<Reporter>

Yes, the streets are very busy right now as people start to gather around the evening to enjoy Halloween.

There were also placards urging people to wear masks all over the World Food Street, where restaurants are clustered.

Not only here, but also in the downtown area in front of Hongdae, it feels like there are two opposing atmospheres: the anticipation for the festival and the tension about the spread of the corona virus.

[Seoyoung Choi (Street in front of Hongik University): Last year I couldn't come because I worked, but this year I came out because I wanted to enjoy it. You have to wear a mask well, sanitize your hands whenever you have time, and follow the quarantine rules well.]

[Yoo Tae-hyeok / President of Itaewon Special Tourism Zone Association: It was very hard for two years, and many people also closed too many businesses, and with Corona as an opportunity We are also working hard to revive the commercial district.]

is also concerned about quarantine, how are the local governments preparing?

<Reporter>

Yes, Yongsan-gu, where Itaewon is located,

said

that it would prepare for the outbreak of Corona by operating an on-site situation response team for three days from today.

Merchants were required to undergo a preemptive test for COVID-19 from the 25th, and a temporary screening clinic was also installed in the middle of Itaewon Avenue.

The city of Seoul has also foretold an intense joint crackdown over the weekend.

Earlier, we caught 19 businesses that violated quarantine rules by intensively cracking down on downtown areas and areas where foreigners are concentrated.

Until next Tuesday, we plan to continue these crackdowns centered on Itaewon, Hongdae, and Gangnam.
