A woman in her 70s, who was sentenced to prison for serious injuries after biting the tongue of a man who tried to rape her, asked the court for reconsideration after 56 years for recognition of self-defense, but the court dismissed it.



The 5th Criminal Division of the Busan District Court (President Ki-cheol Kwon) announced today (18) that it had been dismissed because there was no reason for retrial related to the case of Choi Mo (75), who requested retrial.



On May 6, 1964 (at the time 18 years old), 56 years ago, Choi resisted an old mother (then 21 years old) who tried to rape her, and was charged with biting Roh's tongue and cutting it 1.5cm (severe injury) I was sentenced to two years probation in October in prison under the Busan District Law.



Choi claimed self-defense, but the court did not admit it.



This case was also introduced as a'forced kiss tongue amputation case' in the'court history' published in 1995 by the court administration's reorganization of the 100 years of court history.



Choi asked the court for a reconsideration in May last year, asking for recognition of self-defense with the help of women's groups, including women's calls.



The retrial court stated the reason for dismissal, saying, "As a result of reviewing the evidence presented by the claimant, it cannot be considered as new clear evidence to admit innocence, etc."
