The failure was recognized by the company itself during the early Spanish morning;
that is to say, in the middle of the afternoon in the American continent, where the complaints and the problems were greater.
According to the website DownDetector, which records user complaints and problems, the failures began around 12:12 a.m. and continued until approximately 2:30 a.m., with a peak of almost 285,000 reports shortly after YouTube posted a tweet acknowledging announcing the situation.
The fall also affected YouTube TV and the company's movie and series rental service.
Although at first the page seemed to work correctly, it was impossible to play the videos, which kept showing the circle that indicates that they are loading.
Finally YouTube announced that it had definitively solved the failure at 03:13 - again, Spanish time - although for the moment the company has not explained what the fall was due to.
