Cuba plans to start trials of its own vaccine against coronavirus

Research on drug development is being conducted by the Finley Vaccine Institute. 

It is planned that the Soberana 01 vaccine will be administered to 676 volunteers aged 19 to 80 years. 

The tests are expected to be fully completed in January 2021.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, in turn, noted the importance of having its own drug for coronavirus.

In June, Russian and Cuban Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla discussed countering the coronavirus pandemic.
