"It's a wedding this weekend, and it's really hard to get married because of corona."

As the second stage of social distancing, which has been strengthened in the metropolitan area due to the rapid spread of corona, is implemented, indoor weddings with 50 or more guests must be canceled from today (19th).

In case of violation, not only the organizer of the wedding ceremony, but also all attendees must pay a fine of 3 million won.

Today, the Fair Trade Commission requested the National Federation of Wedding Ceremony to cooperate so that prospective couples do not charge excessive penalties.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus in March, the FTC discussed with the wedding industry the standard terms and conditions applicable to the case of cancellation or postponement due to an infectious disease and consumer dispute resolution standards.

As a result, in the case of the third stage of social distancing, where the'prohibition of all gatherings or events with 10 or more people', an agreement was made so that the penalty could be exempted.

The problem is that the current distancing stage 2 is not the reason for the penalty exemption.

An official from the FTC said, "Today's request for cooperation was made orally without an official letter, so it is not legally binding."

Previously, in March, according to the request of the FTC, if a customer wanted to postpone the wedding, the wedding was delayed for three months without penalty.

An official from the Korea Federation of Korea said, "Many of the people who held a wedding this week or next week are pre-arranged couples who have postponed from last March to April." We can't do it, so we're discussing it."

Wedding ceremony reservations usually have a minimum guarantee number of 200-300 people, and even if fewer guests come, they are paid as much as the contracted number.

Even if a wedding is held by reducing the number of guests, there is no choice but to suffer financial damage, and the couples are struggling with their feet.
