The field of cannabis discovered Tuesday morning by the police of the departmental security of Gard was hidden among olive trees, in an inaccessible place. Two suspects were arrested and taken into police custody. 

The Gard departmental security police intervened Tuesday morning in Milhaud, near an area of ​​the A9 motorway where a field of cannabis was hidden. In total, 500 feet were discovered, hidden in the middle of olive trees in an inaccessible place, between the highway and a railway track. The investigation, open for a week, allowed the police to locate this outdoor culture.

Plans "like shrubs"

Helped by their colleagues from Hérault, Vaucluse and the gendarmerie, investigators from Nîmes raided the scene this morning and arrested two suspects on the spot, placed in police custody. "The plans were quite large, like shrubs for some, with trunks several centimeters in diameter", specifies to Europe 1 an officer of the departmental security of Gard. "We had to use a backhoe loader to destroy everything," he adds.

The search carried out among the suspects in a camp of sedentary travelers also made it possible to discover and seize eight hunting rifles. The hearings of the two defendants are continuing.
