Police investigations are speeding up for North Korean refugee groups that have been engaged in activities such as spraying North Korea.

Lee Yong-pyo, the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, met with reporters today (22th) and said, "We have recruited 2 persons involved in the spraying activities, such as the North Korea Flyer." "We are reviewing the law, such as the management law."

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency formed the task force (TF) for the investigation into North Korea and the material spraying of 40 people, with the head of the security department as the team leader.

The police are conducting investigations of reference persons on the spot against residents of border areas such as Gimpo-si, Paju-si, Yeoncheon-gun, and Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, where North Korean defectors sent rice to North Korea.

Yesterday, during the on-site investigation in Paju, they found and seized 20 hydrogen gas cylinders that North Korean defectors seem to have used.

The police say they are checking closed circuit (CC) TV to find out which group used the gas cylinder.

The police investigated two officials from the Ministry of Unification who asked for an investigation twice last week.

"This is a serious matter," said Lee. "It is a matter related to the safety of our people, especially the people in the border area, so we will proceed closely with the investigation."

Previously, the Ministry of Unification asked the police to investigate that the Freedom of the North Korean Movement (Representative Park Sang-hak) and Big Saem (Representative Park Jung-oh), who defected from North Korea and sent rice to North Korea, violated many domestic laws.
