The center of the Seoul Central Sword Mask Crime Investigation Team, which was packed at the end of last month, was seized and searched for by 10 companies that manufacture and distribute masks in Seoul and Gyeonggi.

Prosecutors stocked the masks to capture the situation that violated the Price Stabilization Act and secured mask production and transaction details.

As the supply of masks became scarce, the Department designated early last month that it sold more than 150 days of its average monthly sales for more than five days.

The buying and selling agent designated by the Minister of Public Affairs may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to two years or fined up to 50 million won.

The prosecution will also apply for allegations of violations of the Tax Punishment Act when companies are exposed to the dataless transaction.

The prosecution will take measures to ensure that the masks obtained during the seizure search process are legally produced and that products without any quality problems can be distributed to the market immediately without being seized.

There are currently 35 cases of hoarding health supplies stocked by prosecutors or directing police investigations.
