Yes, I am at the accident scene in Unsan-dong, Gangneung-si.

Behind me, you will see a train carriage crossing over the track, the locomotive shown at the front, and the one behind it is the carriage.

The accident happened today at 7:35 am (8th).

It was the train that departed from Gangneung Station at 7:30 am to Seoul, but it got off here in five minutes from departure.

201 passengers, including 198 passengers and three crew members including engineers, boarded the train. Thirteen passengers were injured and transferred to a nearby hospital.

At the time of the accident, one employee of Gangneung Station who was watching the train on the track suffered a minor injury.

The passengers said, "The train was tilted after the sudden sound."

Four of the 10 passenger cars were completely deviated from the track and broken by the trainer, and all the remaining 6 cars were slightly out of the track.

Some 198 passengers have returned to Gangneung, and about 140 others have returned to Seoul by taking a KTX train from Jindu Station.

Currently, KTX service between Seoul Station and Jungbu Station is normal, but it is unknown when Jungbu Station and Gangneung Station will resume service.

The KORAIL Kangwon headquarters predicted that it would take at least 32 hours to transport the trains and repair the tracks.

We will also identify the exact cause of the accident through the National Railroad Accident Investigation Committee.
