A collective resignation of the Juventus board of directors, led by Agnelli

The Italian football club Juventus, on Monday, submitted a collective resignation, including club president Andrea Agnelli and his deputy, former Czech star Pavel Nedved, according to what the Turin giants announced.

Managing Director Maurizio Arrivabene has been asked to remain in office for a temporary period until a new board of directors is formed.

The club's statement said that the board of directors resigned collectively "after considering the centrality and importance of the pending legal and accounting issues," in reference to an investigation currently open against the club.

Since last year, the public prosecutor in Turin has launched an investigation into allegations of false accounting and irregularities in the transfer and loan of players.

Juventus indicated in the statement that the board saw "it is in the best social interest to recommend that Juventus equip itself with a new board of directors to address these issues."

This resignation comes after the club recorded a record loss of 254.3 million euros for the 2021-2022 season, and last week the shareholder meeting, which was supposed to be held on November 23, was postponed to December 27.
