The Brazil national team achieved its second victory, this time over its Swiss counterpart, 1-0, in the match that was held at Stadium 974, for the second round of Group G of the Qatar World Cup 2022.

The Brazilians entered the match strongly in order to score an early goal, but they collided with the solidity of the Swiss defense, which prevented them from reaching goalkeeper Jan Sommer.

Brazil team qualifies for the second round

Brazil had a real opportunity to score, after Rafinha sent a perfect ball into the box, to his compatriot Vinicius Junior, who was free from control, but the Real Madrid striker did not take advantage of it and hit it weakly, which Sumer managed to clear.

On the other hand, the European team did not pose any significant danger to the Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker, so the first half ended as it began.

After the break, the Brazilian national team managed to score Sumer, after Vinicius got rid of the Swiss defense in a wonderful way, and put the ball to the left of the goalkeeper at the 64th minute.

The Brazilians' joy did not last for only a few seconds, because the video referee (VAR) intervened and canceled the goal, due to the presence of passer Richarlison in the offside position.

But Casemiro compensated for that, and returned the smile to the faces of the Brazilians, after a set of passes ended at the foot of Rodrigo Goes, who gifted it to the midfield of Manchester United, to shoot it powerfully to the left of Sumer into the net at the 83rd minute.

With this result, Brazil became the second team to qualify for the final price, by reaching the sixth point, while Switzerland remained in second place, with its score frozen at 3 points.

Brazil succeeded in untangling Switzerland in the World Cup finals, as this match is the third between them in the history of the World Cup.

The two teams met for the first time in the World Cup, in the 1950 World Cup in Brazil, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

As for the second time, it was in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, and it ended in a positive draw as well, this time 1-1.

Meanwhile, Cameroon is in third place with one point, the same as Serbia, but the goal difference favors the "Untamed Lions".

Matters are still wide open in this group, pending the results of the third and final round matches, which will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022.

Brazil, the 5-time world champion, will play against Cameroon at Lusail Stadium, while Switzerland will meet its Serbian counterpart at Stadium 974.
