The Department of Justice in Washington has brought charges against a 39-year-old American: The agency accuses Monica Witt to have spied for Iran. It is not known where she is currently. An international arrest warrant was issued.

Witt worked according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI from 1997 to 2008 for the counterintelligence of the US Air Force. She has delivered the Iranian side strictly secret information on intelligence operations against Iran, the Ministry of Justice said.

Thus, Witt should have revealed, among other things, the identity of a US agent, with which they have put his life on the line. She also provided data to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, who had been used for cyber attacks on her former colleagues.

In the years after 2008 Witt had "ideological" reasons in the Iranian camp changed, it was said by the authority. In 2012, she traveled to Iran to attend the conference of an organization affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards. In 2013, she sat down according to US data then. It is believed that she is currently in Iran; that is not confirmed.

Four Iranians were also charged with being responsible for Cyberattacks against Witt's ex-colleagues on behalf of the Revolutionary Guards. The indictments were announced at a security conference in Warsaw at the same time as the US government wanted to promote increased international pressure on Tehran.
