China News Service, Foshan, March 2 (Reporter Fang Weibin) On March 1, the simultaneous joint law enforcement operation for the spring fishing ban in the Pearl River Basin in 2024 was officially launched in Gaoming District, Foshan City.

  On the same day, agricultural and rural departments and fishery law enforcement agencies from four provinces including Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan attended the event.

It is reported that the implementation of the Pearl River closed fishing season system is a long-term move to implement relevant national regulations, protect the ecological environment of the Pearl River waters, and promote the sustainable development of fisheries. It has lasted for 14 years since the Pearl River closed fishing season system was first implemented in 2011.

  According to the Guangdong Provincial Comprehensive Marine Law Enforcement Corps, as one of the organizers of the 2024 fishing ban in the Pearl River Basin, the Corps will dispatch the 300-ton China Fishery Administration Vessel 44616 to pilot the whistle, and the Pearl River Fishing Ban Joint Law Enforcement Fleet sets sail in Xijiang Carry out joint patrol law enforcement operations.

  During the fishing ban, the Guangdong Provincial Comprehensive Marine Law Enforcement Corps will take the lead in carrying out special law enforcement operations in key waters and areas with prominent problems, focusing on cracking down on fishing activities that violate the provisions of the fishing ban period; alone or in conjunction with relevant departments, increase research and inspection, patrol law enforcement and "four "Buliangzhi" conducts undercover investigations to keep abreast of the law enforcement and supervision situation during fishing ban seasons in various places.

We will report, supervise or interview cases where law enforcement supervision is inadequate and responsibilities are not fully implemented; cases with complex circumstances and high impact will also be listed for supervision.
