Al Jazeera channel showed exclusive scenes of the fierce battles between the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - and the Israeli occupation army, in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
The scenes included the targeting of various Israeli military vehicles with anti-armor shells, as well as the detonation of a "Shawaz" device with a Merkava tank.
The Qassam scenes included monitoring the occupation crowds and targeting them with mortar shells, with one of the Qassam fighters repeating the phrase, “We do not surrender...we win or we die.”
The Al-Qassam video included scenes of the occupation army throwing smoke bombs at the place to cover up its human losses, as well as monitoring Israeli aircraft while evacuating the dead and wounded.
On February 21, the occupation army announced the start of a military operation in the Zaytoun neighborhood, whose goal was “the infrastructure of the Hamas movement, which has not yet been destroyed,” according to Israeli Army Radio.
The brigades have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and vehicles - in various combat axes - since the start of the Israeli ground operation late last October, where the Qassams use anti-personnel, armor and fortifications missiles, in addition to precise ambushes and precise sniper operations.
