According to the publication, Chernyakov became ill last weekend, as a result of which he was hospitalized at the Central Clinical Hospital.
There, doctors reportedly diagnosed him with a stroke.
“Despite all the efforts of doctors, Mr. Chernyakov died in intensive care, literally two weeks before his 65th birthday,” the publication says.
In 2019, the Warsaw District Court allowed Chernyakov to be extradited to Russia, where he was accused of fraud of 12 billion rubles when obtaining a loan from the Bank of Moscow.
The man was detained in Poland on an Interpol warrant in December 2017.
