The Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti called on the Senate on Wednesday to "collectively live up to popular expectations" by being in favor of including abortion in the Constitution while senators will have to decide and that the debates promise to be tense.

The Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti called on Wednesday the Senate to “collectively live up to popular expectations” by showing itself in favor of including abortion in the Constitution.

“The French are watching us and waiting for us all to collectively live up to popular expectations, live up to past struggles, live up to the universal vocation of France,” launched the Minister of Justice before a vote in suspense in the upper house on the constitutionalization of a “guaranteed freedom” for voluntary termination of pregnancy.
