The Israeli army announced that two officers were killed and seven others from the Givati Brigade were wounded in battles in the northern Gaza Strip last night.

The army explained in a statement on Wednesday that the two dead were a company commander in a battalion affiliated with the Givati Brigade and a platoon commander in the same battalion, and confirmed that the seven wounded were seriously injured.

The Israeli Soroka Hospital announced that it received 47 injured soldiers during the past 24 hours, including 19 in serious condition.

The hospital explained that it had received 2,790 Israeli soldiers with injuries of varying degrees of severity since the beginning of the war on Gaza.

The Israeli army spoke in a previous statement about fighting fierce battles in the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and claimed to have killed dozens of militants in face-to-face clashes and air strikes.

He added that he also destroyed military infrastructure in the central Gaza Strip, and security squares belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and arrested a number of militants who tried to move to safe shelter centers as civilians, he said.

Since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation carried out by the resistance on October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that has left tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
