A 36-year-old Irish woman requested 760,000 euros in compensation for disability linked to a car accident.

His claim for compensation was rejected by a judge at the Limerick High Court after a photograph showed him throwing a spruce tree at a charity event.

This is not the gift she was hoping for under the tree.

In 2017, 36-year-old Kamila Grabska decided to sue an insurance company after a car accident left her with back and neck injuries.

According to her, her injuries prevented her from working for more than five years, but also from enjoying many hobbies with her family.

In compensation, the mother claimed 760,000 euros for bodily damage.

A Christmas tree toss competition

Unfortunately for her, her claim for compensation was rejected by a judge at the Limerick High Court after a photograph showed her throwing a spruce tree at a charity event, a Christmas tree toss, in January 2018. By throwing the tree 1.50m, she won the women's competition and photos with her trophy were posted on social media on the Clare County Regional Council page.

“It is a very large natural Christmas tree which she throws with a very agile movement,” declared the judge in his decision relayed by the media The Irish Independent.

In addition, the mother had not yet consulted doctors before this competition and it was after launching this tree that she decided to consult.

Right after that, she claimed she could no longer lift a heavy bag without feeling searing pain.

The latter decided to leave her job and received disability benefits immediately after the event, the court heard.

Kamila Grabska insisted on responding to the court's decisions and denied faking her injuries.

She also told the court that she was "trying to live a normal life" and that was why she took part in the Christmas tree tossing competition despite her pain.
