  • Congreso Ábalos stands before Sánchez, does not renounce the record and goes to the Mixed Group

  • Courts High officials declare that the order to contract with Koldo's corrupt plot came from "the minister's entourage"

It took only a few minutes for the PSOE to communicate the precautionary suspension of José Luis Ábalos's militancy as a member of the Valencia Group after the former Minister of Transport had communicated his decision not to resign from the seat of deputy and move to the Mixed Group.

In Ferraz they argue that they do it to "safeguard the image of the party."

In a six-page resolution, the socialist leadership argues that it could have incurred three very serious offenses for "acting against agreements adopted by the party's leadership bodies", "abandonment of public office" and "for" undermining the image of public positions or socialist institutions." Likewise, it indicates that he could have incurred a serious offense for "obstruction of the work and decisions of the party organs."

In a speech without questions in Congress, Ábalos justified that he is willing to defend his "personal honor and as a deputy to the last consequences" and that he would have liked to have done so "backed" by the formation in which he has been active for decades.

"I am not accused of anything nor am I part of the ongoing investigation and I do not have any illicit enrichment. I do not have to invoke the principle of presumption of innocence," he stressed.
