Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that the images broadcast by the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas - confirm the continuation of resistance in the face of the occupation forces, and that the continued siege of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip means that the occupation forces are still unable to enter it.

Al-Duwairi added - in his daily analysis on Al Jazeera - that the occupation army returned to work with the methodology of the first phase of the ground operation - which is based on a complete invasion with large forces - in the northern Gaza Strip after the methodology of the third phase - which is based on carrying out qualitative operations with small forces - failed to achieve any results. Goal.

Battles are currently raging in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood - north of the Gaza Strip - because the Israelis consider it a black hole from which the resistance launches to carry out operations in many areas of the north, including Juhr al-Dik, according to Al-Duwairi.

Resistance cohesion in Khan Yunis

As for the south, the majority of the resistance forces are stationed around and inside the city of Khan Yunis, while the occupation forces - consisting of 5 brigades - continue to besiege the city, which reflects their inability to storm it so far, according to Al-Duwairi.

Regarding the possible ground operation in Rafah - the southernmost part of the Strip - Al-Duwairi said that the general framework of this operation will be subject to local, international and regional approaches because there are one and a half million people in this region.

Al-Duwairi said that the occupation army received orders to develop a preliminary plan for the operation, which is to evacuate the population, after the United States requested to find a solution for the civilians present in the region, and also because of the Egyptian position, which does not appear firm enough to stop the operation.

He added that Israel currently does not have sufficient forces in the south to carry out a large ground operation in Rafah, stressing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's talk about ending the entire war within weeks of controlling Rafah is "not realistic."

He concluded by saying that battles have returned again to the northern Gaza Strip after 5 months of war, and this will happen in Khan Yunis, stressing that Israel will not resolve this war as easily as it says.
