“Five minutes of shame: Ukrainian diplomats tried to bring smuggled tobacco into Hungary,” reports the Ukrainian agency UNIAN.

Hungarian customs officers confiscated 283 boxes of cigarettes at the Chop-Zahony checkpoint at the Tisza customs post.

It is noted that the driver of the minibus and his companion had diplomatic passports and refused to open the vehicle for inspection.

Earlier, the Moscow Regional Court sentenced former Ukrainian security officials who kidnapped Russian citizens for ransom.

All defendants in the case received long sentences.
