The Internal Affairs Unit has arrested the head of the narcotics group of the Higher
National Police Headquarters of Murcia
in the framework of an operation directed by the Investigative Court number 7 of the Murcia capital, as reported to Europa Press by sources close to the investigation.
The detainee has the rank of inspector and had been in command of the aforementioned anti-drug unit for several years.
The arrest occurred last Tuesday by officers of the General Directorate of the Police posted from Madrid.
The detainee is in police custody waiting to be brought before a court in the next few hours.
The proceedings have been declared secret so the charges against the detainee are unknown.
The investigation remains open.
