Medvedev recalled that after the end of World War II, most participants in the German war machine returned home, because those who were not convicted of crimes against humanity and genocide were forgiven.

“In a sense, the same scale should be applied here,” he suggested.

Medvedev emphasized that the Russian Armed Forces treat Ukrainian prisoners of war very humanely.

Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin said that Russian fighters took a large number of Ukrainian military prisoners during the assault on Avdeevka.
