US President Joe Biden described his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, as "crazy" during a fundraising campaign for his re-election yesterday, Wednesday, in California.

Biden gave a brief speech during the event, which was held in San Francisco and was attended by a small group of media professionals, and directed an obscene insult at Putin (...).

He was talking about climate change, and said, "We have crazy people like Putin and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is the climate."

Biden's use of these strong epithets against Putin comes in the wake of other occasions in which he described him as a "thug" and a "war criminal," especially after the Russian war on Ukraine.

Biden added that the United States will announce next Friday a new strict sanctions package on Russia due to the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in prison.

Biden was heard insulting a Fox News journalist and describing him with the same obscene description, in a slip of the tongue in front of an open microphone in January 2022.

Biden did not miss the opportunity to attack his potential rival in the US elections scheduled for November 2024, former US President Donald Trump, after he compared himself to Navalny and likened the sentences issued against him to a form of communism.
