As stated in the publication, the Vamin company is owned by 29-year-old Mintimer Mingazoev, who in the summer of 2023 joined the board of directors of Danone’s subsidiary in Russia.

The newspaper writes that the director of the company owned by Vamin, Airat Mukhamadeev, in a letter to the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, said that the company’s management agreed to pay 17.7 billion rubles for obtaining Danone’s Russian assets.

In July 2023, Yakub Zakriev, who works as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Chechnya, was appointed CEO of the Russian Danone group.

In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the shares of Danone and the Baltika brewing company owned by foreign companies will be transferred to temporary Russian management.
