Displaced Palestinians were exposed to gunfire from the Israeli occupation army - while thousands of them gathered on Al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City - to obtain some flour carried by limited aid trucks that arrived from the south to the north of the Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon.

The scenes obtained by Al Jazeera document that the displaced people were exposed to gunfire, and Israeli artillery fired smoke bombs towards the citizens.

The pictures show that the number of citizens who were able to obtain flour is very limited compared to the numbers that arrived in the area from the areas of Gaza City and its north.

In a tragic picture showing the state of famine that the residents of Gaza have reached, some children and young men resorted to trying to collect flour from the ground.

At least one person was martyred and others were injured as a result of the Israeli army targeting citizens who flocked to the area.

I swear to God Almighty that people in northern Gaza are falling in the streets from extreme hunger!!

With the Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip reaching its 136th day, the people of Gaza, especially the northern Gaza Strip, are on the verge of a real famine that threatens those who survived the occupation’s bombing with death from starvation.

This is accompanied by calls and appeals for the need to rescue people - especially children - and allow aid to enter in order to alleviate this situation, which is described as catastrophic.

Reports from Al Jazeera earlier documented aspects of the people's daily struggle to afford a meal, while some people say that the animal feed that was ground and made into some food has also run out.
