United Kingdom: King Charles III suffers from a “form of cancer”

King Charles III is suffering from a “form of cancer”, discovered during his prostate operation around ten days ago, and has started treatment without planning to cease his activities, the palace announced this Monday, February 5 of Buckingham in a press release.

”. Doctors, however, advised the British king to suspend his public activities. Other members of the royal family are expected to fill in for him during his treatment.

The type of cancer was not revealed, but according to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the king began “ 

regular treatments 

” on Monday. No further details are shared about the stage of the cancer or a prognosis, according to the BBC. To quell the inevitable abdication rumors, Buckingham Palace said the king " 

remains fully positive and hopes to return to full public duties as soon as possible

."

King Charles III underwent prostate surgery at a private London hospital more than a week ago. The king had chosen to make his treatment public, in a bid to encourage more men to undergo prostate exams, the palace said at the time. The UK Health Service (NHS) website showed an increase in problems related to prostate conditions.
