　　In the past, in order to improve their lives, sugar-crackers in Yiwu would carry poles, shake rattles, walk through the streets, and pick out homemade brown sugar to exchange for chicken feathers, duck feathers and other production materials, commonly known as "chicken feathers for sugar."

　　In the early 1980s, the spring breeze of reform and opening up led to more rattles and drums of "exchanging chicken feathers for sugar", and many people started small commodity businesses. But some bans across the country had not yet been lifted. For this reason, Xie Gaohua, the then Secretary of the Yiwu County Party Committee, brought the issue of farmers entering the city to do business and the opening of the market trade market to the meeting of the Yiwu County Party Committee and County Government, and made a decision to officially open the Yiwu small commodity market.

　　Later, Yiwu Small Commodity City continued to develop and iterate, and gradually grew into the leading market in Zhejiang Province. However, Yiwu, which is prosperous and developing, also faces confusion: it does not understand foreign trade, and the traditional transaction method of "on-site, spot, cash" has made the market turnover stagnant.

　　In 2006, the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government delegated 131 items of economic and social management authority to Yiwu. The Yiwu Municipal Government was once called "the most powerful county-level government in China" by the outside world.

　　Adhere to the humanistic characteristics of "be bold and brave", and use entrepreneurship to create innovation "out of nothing". Years have witnessed the transformation of Yiwu from barren land, poor people, and lack of resources to an internationally renowned small commodity trading center.
