The ship is owned by the Norwegian-American shipping company Royal Caribbean International, is built in Turku and has a price tag of a staggering two billion US dollars.

The ship boasts a capacity of 7,600 people, a water park with several slides and an ice rink down on deck four.

At the same time that the luxury cruiser leaves Miami for a seven-day trip to the West Indies, criticism has been raised from several quarters. The reason is the ship's use of liquefied natural gas.

Natural gas, LNG, produces less carbon dioxide emissions than other fossil fuels. However, the risk of the gas leaking out of the engines is greater, causing methane in the atmosphere.

Methane causes about 25 times the warming effect of carbon dioxide.
