“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls for an independent and thorough investigation into this matter,” the Finnish Foreign Ministry said.

Finnish Minister for Development of Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Tavio said that Helsinki must make sure that “not a single euro of Finnish funds goes to Hamas or other terrorists.”

“The suspicion that employees of an organization receiving humanitarian aid are involved in a terrorist attack is grounds for suspending payments. The case must be thoroughly investigated,” the minister said.

Prior to this, funding for UNRWA was suspended by Italy, Australia, the United States and Canada. According to Al jazeera, UNRWA has already launched an investigation into some of the employees who Israel claims were involved in the October 7 attacks.
