A large-scale military parade was held in India on the 26th to mark the anniversary of the implementation of the Constitution. India seems to be trying to emphasize that even if it breaks away from its dependence on Russia for weapons procurement, it can still maintain its high military power through domestic production and diversification.

In India, a large-scale military parade was held in the capital New Delhi on the 26th, marking Republic Day to celebrate the enforcement of the Constitution in 1950.

At the parade, indigenous weapons such as tanks, missiles, and systems to thwart drone attacks were displayed, and Indian soldiers marched in perfect order.

Additionally, in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron, with whom India is strengthening cooperation in the defense field, a formation flight was conducted using the French-made Rafale fighter jets purchased by India.

India, which is at war with neighboring countries China and Pakistan over its borders and is building up its military, has long relied on its traditional ally Russia to procure weapons.

Meanwhile, as the military invasion of Ukraine continues to prolong, the Modi government is promoting domestic production of weapons and diversifying procurement sources due to concerns that weapons procurement will be delayed.

Through the parade, India appears to be trying to demonstrate that it can maintain its high military power even after breaking away from dependence on Russia.
