China News Service, January 26 (Xinhua) According to Hong Kong's "Dian News", Hong Kong's Lunar New Year fireworks display will be held on the second day of the Lunar New Year (February 11) for the first time in five years. With the theme of "China is Strong in the Age of Prosperity", it was staged over the Victoria Harbor opposite the Convention and Exhibition Center at 8 o'clock that night. The public can watch it in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mid-Levels, Central District, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and Hung Hom Bypass. This fireworks display operated three barges and released a total of 23,888 fireworks over Victoria Harbor in eight acts, lasting 23 minutes. The overall budget of the event was approximately HK$13 million.
This year, the celebration committee specially invited the Hong Kong Youth Patriotism Education Foundation as a supporting organization to jointly prepare for this fireworks display.
