A 19-year-old man was sentenced to one year in prison for participating in the attack on the Melun police station during the riots that followed Nahel's death last June. It was a trace of blood left by the young man at the scene which allowed the police to identify him.

He probably thought he had been forgotten. A 19-year-old man was sentenced to one year in prison for targeting the municipal police station of Melun, during the violence which followed the death of Nahel last summer, reports Actu.fr. The young man was confused by his DNA and arrested last Tuesday, almost seven months after the events. On the night of June 28 to 29, 2023, he attacked, with around fifty other rioters, the Melun police station. While fireworks mortars, iron bars and stones were thrown at the facade, two people managed to gain access to the building and break the glass door. Damage estimated at 1,500 euros for the municipality.

The man already known for acts of violence

Except that two municipal police officers were inside the police station. Thinking that the individuals were going to manage to enter the building, the two agents used their flash ball, as explained by

. While trying to flee, one of the two rioters is injured. It is thanks to these traces of blood that the police will be able to identify the suspect, already known for drug and violence cases.

The man, prosecuted for aggravated violence against persons holding public authority, aggravated damage to public property and participation in an armed gathering, however denied the facts throughout his immediate appearance at the criminal court. He was immediately imprisoned.
