Yolanda Díaz bets on Íñigo Errejón as Sumar's new spokesperson in Congress.

Her appointment will be official starting next week, when the leadership of the parliamentary group formally makes the decision to replace

Marta Lois

.

The Galician politician will leave her position in the group and her deputy status on Tuesday to exercise with all the consequences as Sumar's candidate for the Galicia elections on February 18.

Errejón's promotion, anticipated by

ElDiario

and confirmed by EL MUNDO, has been in preparation for weeks.

In fact, the deputy for Más Madrid has been informally exercising that role during this month of January, taking a prominent role in the pre-campaign events in Galicia together with Díaz and Lois and, in turn, assuming greater weight in the communication policy of Add.

However, it was not until yesterday, Wednesday, when the

Sumar Executive Group

approved Díaz's proposal for Errejón to replace Lois as spokesperson for the Sumar parliamentary group.

Sources from the

fuchsia

coalition indicate that this appointment would have been consulted and endorsed by all the parties that are present in Congress.

Now, the way to make the new leadership of the group official will come next week, when on Tuesday, January 30, a formal meeting will be held with all the deputies.

That day "the proposal will be presented" to the 26 parliamentarians, although many of them have been taking that election for granted for a long time.

Errejón's new position as parliamentary spokesperson will come with the appointment of

Enrique Santiago

as "substitute spokesperson."

It is a figure now created by Sumar to try to compensate

Izquierda Unida

, which had proposed its deputy, who is also general secretary of the PCE, in the shortlist of candidates to replace Marta Lois, where the leader of the commons in Madrid was also present. ,
