Opening a restaurant in Jordan called “7th of October” (social networking sites)

Jordanian social media platforms circulated the opening of a shawarma restaurant in Karak Governorate, southern Jordan, bearing the name “October 7,” the date on which the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), launched the Battle of al-Aqsa Flood.

Indeed, the pioneers of the virtual world in the Arab world began circulating clips of the opening of the restaurant, and they expressed their joy in naming it “October 7.” They said that despite the simplicity of the restaurant, the idea is deeper than it can be described. They added that the hearts of the Arab peoples beat with love for Gaza, its steadfastness, its action, and its valiant resistance against the occupation. On October 7, this date will remain immortal and engraved among the Arab peoples.

According to what they say.

Video clips that spread on social media platforms showed store workers wearing uniform shirts with the date “October 7” also written on them.

But the name of the restaurant and the Arab celebration of it did not please the Israelis to the extent that the leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, condemned the opening of the restaurant, and called on the Jordanian government to condemn this matter. Lapid said in a tweet via his account on the X platform, “The shameful glorification of October 7 must stop, and we expect the Jordanian government to To condemn this matter publicly and unequivocally.”

The disgraceful glorification of October 7th has to stop.

The incitement and hatred against Israel breeds the terrorism and extremism which led to the brutal massacre of October 7th.

We expect the Jordanian government to condemn this publicly and univocaly https://t.co/KwyeqHAiXO

Israeli newspapers also circulated the news of naming the restaurant on “October 7th”. The Israeli Yalla Net website published the news and titled it “The “7th of October” Restaurant - in a country with which we have a peace agreement.” The news said that naming the restaurant with this name is further evidence of the deterioration of relations. Between Amman and Tel Aviv.

The “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle is considered the largest military operation launched by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip against Israel at dawn on Saturday, October 7, 2023, and included a land, sea and air attack and the infiltration of the resistance into several settlements on the Gaza Strip.
