It was on the night of December 13 last year that a man was arrested on E4 after a shooting.

But even before this, the man allegedly assaulted a woman and then her daughter in Haparanda.

The daughter managed to break the man's stranglehold on the woman.

- She was completely red around the neck and then I went as if on him to get him away, says the daughter to the police.

"Terribly afraid I was going to die"

The man also allegedly had a firearm and said that "this will hurt" when they tried to escape from the residence.

- I was terrified that I was going to die.

I couldn't breathe, says the woman in questioning.

Three men then tried to catch up with the man as he drove at high speed on the E4 in the direction of Kalix.

Several shots were fired

The man allegedly used a carbon dioxide gun and fired several shots at the trio.

"It was only due to temporary circumstances that there was no danger that the crime would be completed because the shots did not penetrate the windshield or otherwise missed the cars completely,"

writes the prosecutor.

The man is now charged with several crimes: Assault, aggravated unlawful threat, weapons offense, attempted aggravated assault, aggravated unlawful threat and aggravated violation of the Knife Act as he had an ax in the car.

In police interrogations, the man has denied all crimes.
