From our correspondent in Moscow,

This assassination, which Moscow presents as orchestrated by Ukraine – which has never confirmed – caused a stir in Russia, particularly among the most fervent supporters of the war in Ukraine.

The personality of the blogger, as well as the circumstances of his death, had met with enormous resonance in Russia.

Vladlen Tatarski, whose real name is Maxim Fomin, was a widely listened to and followed personality in the galaxy of pro-war Z activists.

He died after receiving a statuette of his likeness trapped in an explosive as a gift.

Around thirty people present that evening with him in his HQ café in Saint Petersburg were also injured.

The young woman, who brought him this statuette, had said throughout the trial that it had been manipulated.

According to Russian media, Daria Petrova declared in January in front of the judges: “

I want to apologize for what happened, I am still ashamed

.”

Throughout the trial, she assured that she had brought this statuette, certainly because of her opposition to the war in Ukraine, but thinking that the object contained “

a listening device

”, and not a bomb.

This is an argument not accepted by the court.

Daria Trepova receives the heaviest sentence.

Vladlen Tatarski was, for his part, decorated posthumously by Vladimir Putin.
