Military and strategic expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi described the details of the Al-Maghazi operation (central Gaza Strip) - which was revealed by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - as “thinking outside the box and something extraordinary” and resulted after “strategic patience.”

Al-Duwairi said - during his military analysis of Al-Jazeera - that the thinking of those who planned this specific operation “is not traditional and it surprised me personally, so it achieved full marks.”

He pointed out that the occupation army faces a dilemma due to the lack of certain information about the existence of decisive targets, referring to resistance leaders, tunnel mouths, or Israeli prisoners, “so it blows up these buildings after searching them, and not bombing them.”

The strategic expert praised the "strategic patience" that characterized Al-Qassam fighters, as they preferred to monitor and evaluate the target. He revealed that preparing any building for bombing takes a long time and requires a high degree of concentration. He explained that this is done through electrical and traditional wiring.

He pointed out that his thinking was that the tank would have been targeted first because it was a moving target, then the building would be destroyed until the support force was waiting for it to enter the minefield, “so the death toll could not have been only 21,” indicating that Al-Qassam had read the ideas of the occupation, and its expectations were systematic. Beyond his imagination.

Regarding the bombing operations in the eastern Gaza Strip, Al-Duwairi said that they have internal and external repercussions. However, the occupation will continue to carry them out, giving priority to air bombing “unless it is forced to carry out bombing and booby-trapping operations in accordance with stricter precautionary measures, a prolonged time frame, and an intensity of fire that prevents any movement.”

It is noteworthy that a leading source in Al-Qassam revealed to Al-Jazeera the details of the bombing operation east of Al-Maghazi, in which more than 20 Israeli officers and soldiers were killed. He said that the instructions were not to deal with the forces penetrating the Al-Maghazi camp while waiting for a valuable target.

He pointed out that Al-Qassam fighters spotted an Israeli force and identified it as an engineering force through its identity and equipment. They waited for it to finish its work and install the explosives, then they targeted it with an anti-personnel missile.

He pointed out that the shell was an instigator of explosives that caused an explosion that destroyed the building and killed the force members. In parallel, a tank that was working to secure the force was destroyed, and those in it were killed and injured.

He added that a minefield was detonated after the rescue forces arrived at the site, then the fighters withdrew safely, while the occupation bombed the area around the operation and isolated it, and brought in heavy machinery that remained working for about 12 hours to extract the dead.
