- I think it is primarily a matter of older people selling their villas and moving to the rental apartments that have been built in Bjuv recently, says Björn Lindahl, broker at Länsförsäkringar real estate agency in Åstorp and Bjuv.
Increase in several smaller municipalities
In over 200 of the country's 290 municipalities, the number of sales decreased last year.
But there are municipalities that go against the trend, and many of them are relatively small.
- It has been like that in recent years.
When prices are high in the big cities, many people look at places where they can get more house for the money.
In smaller towns, it is also clearly noticeable that older people move from their houses when the availability of apartments increases, says Björn Lindahl.
Moved to Bjuv from Falun
The Gasanin family moved from Falun to Bjuv last spring.
The eldest daughter entered an education in Helsingborg and they also have relatives in Skåne.
- We enjoy ourselves here.

Prices continued down
Probably more people have also looked at homes in Bjuv after prices in the municipality plummeted in 2022, says Björn Lindahl.
But despite the recent rise in the number of sales, the same development is not visible in terms of price levels.
- Of course it has a positive effect on prices, but you can still say that there is a decline in prices as a whole even in our area, he says.
