“Death threats from Ukrainian sources came through our embassy in Kyiv - as can be seen, with the aim of casting a shadow over the meeting of foreign ministers next Monday and preventing it from taking place,” Szijjártó said.

He recalled that a 150,000-strong community of Transcarpathian Hungarians lives in Ukraine.

“In their interests, we will try to reach some kind of agreement with our Ukrainian counterparts next Monday,” he continued.

The Ukrainian authorities assured Hungary that they would take security measures to ensure that the meeting took place without incident, the minister noted, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

Szijjártó previously warned that Hungary would not participate in processes that would lead to the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
