Christine Lorne (C), primary care regional councilor, believes that taking over 1177's telephone advice is an important step to strengthen safety and preparedness.

- Certain central infrastructure in healthcare, such as the healthcare consultancy, the region needs to have under its own auspices in order for us to have full resources to, for example, be able to scale up if something were to happen, says Christine Lorne (C).

The takeover is strongly criticized by the opposition

However, the plans receive strong criticism from the opposition in the Stockholm Region who believe that it is a waste of tax money.

- Spending money on taking back well-functioning businesses under public auspices is a misuse of tax funds and it does not strengthen security and preparedness in Stockholm, it rather worsens it, says Irene Svenonius (M), opposition regional councillor.

During Tuesday, the decision will be made when the regional board meets.

After that, it will be clubbed by the regional council in February.
