The deal is worth approximately one billion Swedish kronor.

- The order strengthens our partnership with Boeing and means that we scale up serial production to meet the increasing demand we see in the market, says Lars Tossman, head of Saab's Aeronautics business area, in a statement.

About ten years ago, Saab and the American Boeing began jointly developing a new training aircraft for fighter pilots ahead of a procurement that the United States Air Force would make.

In 2018, they won the deal worth about $9.2 billion and which involved delivering 350 planes.

The rear bodies are manufactured at Saab's plant in West Lafayette, USA.
