  Author Chen Qiuxia

"How to interpret Chinese stories well through film and television works, present China's great changes, resonate with more audiences, and attract more people's attention? This is a question I have been thinking about." "Post-90s" Hong Kong girl Zhang Cuishan recently accepted an interview with a reporter from China News Service Shi said.

After graduating from university, Zhang Cuishan came to Guangxi to live with her business mother.

After working hard in the Mainland for ten years, she served as the management of a training institution, opened a bakery store, and invested in B&Bs... A few years ago, with the encouragement of her family, she founded a film and television company.

Now, Zhang Cuishan's career has begun to bear fruit.

His company is an investor and he is the producer of many film and television works that are progressing steadily.

One of the films tells the love story of a Jing girl from Fangchenggang, Guangxi, spreads Jing culture and showcases Guangxi’s cultural and tourism resources.

Another TV series is scheduled to be launched in May this year, using the super project as the background to tell the story of the construction of water conservancy projects in the Mainland.

She and her team have carefully polished it and it is now in its fifth year of preparation.

Zhang Cuishan believes that these film and television dramas are based on national culture and are very meaningful.

"National development has provided a broad stage and opportunities for young people. We are the beneficiaries and have the responsibility to contribute to telling the story of China."

In order to do a good job in film and television planning, explore the mainland environment and system, and seek local support, Zhang Cuishan traveled to Guangxi, Hubei, Yunnan, Beijing and other places to explore the unique cultural scenery of each place and strive to bring more local themes to the screen.

Whenever Caifeng encounters a subject that interests her, she will go into the library, read historical documents, collect more information, and study and discuss with the creative team.

"When I was a child, I only knew about the beautiful scenery of Guilin. I didn't know that every mountain in Guilin has a name and beautiful legends. These legends and stories are very good materials for film and television creation." Zhang Cuishan told reporters that a recent interview refreshed her understanding of Guilin. The knowledge gave her inspiration.

Each era has its mark. In Zhang Cuishan's view, China has a long history, colorful national culture, and countless film and television themes that can be explored.

How film and television works interpret traditional culture with a sense of freshness is worthy of careful consideration.

"With a suitable subject matter, how should it be presented? Is it a movie, short play, animation, or TV series? These all need to be considered." Zhang Cuishan, who has been in the industry for less than five years and is still a "newcomer", watches a lot of industry news every day information, understand the new trends in the film and television industry, and stay in touch with peers to learn from them.

Tracy Chang, who grew up in Hong Kong, has a special affection for Hong Kong movies and dramas.

"The prosperity of Hong Kong films has its historical background and successful experience, and we can learn from the essence. What is more important is to understand China's current national conditions and contemporary aesthetic pursuits, and use light and shadow art to activate the vitality of Chinese culture. The movie "Man Jiang Hong" is a successful example ." Zhang Cuishan said.

Currently, Zhang Cuishan's team is working on two scripts, one with the theme of the national intangible cultural heritage - Tengxian Lion Dance in Wuzhou, Guangxi, and the other in memory and tribute to Academician Gao Bolong, the "founder of laser gyro" in China.

Regarding the future, Zhang Cuishan said that she will continue to take root in the mainland and delve into the film and television industry.

She hopes to promote more film and television works rooted in China's excellent traditional culture overseas so that more people can understand China.
