At the same time that Ukraine is in great need of weapons and support from the West, there are reports that Russia is preparing a new offensive.

- The whole discussion about a Russian counter-offensive is part of the Russian war.

It's a way of trying to break the West's will to support Ukraine, says Magnus Christiansson, senior lecturer in military science at the Norwegian Defense Academy.

The fact that Russia has its own production of military equipment is to their advantage.

- There are very pessimistic figures on, for example, tube artillery, that Russia can produce 4.5 million shells this year and that the West can only come up with roughly half of that, says Magnus Christiansson.

Russia also has allies Iran and North Korea, which contribute with, among other things, drones.

At the same time, Magnus Christiansson believes that there is a risk of overestimating the Russian ability.

- The question is whether you have the moral factors?

Do you have soldiers who can take care of the material you manufacture?, he says.

In the longer term, Magnus Christiansson points to the importance of a strategy for the West's support - see more in the video.
